Fazenda Campestre has been producing coffee since 1958, when Mr. Mario and Mrs. Vita began with a 10-hectare plot. Today the farm cultivates coffee across 120 hectares, all surrounded by protected and reforested natural springs. The Campestre farm employs 18 collaborators and achieved 97 points in quality evaluation in 2017, having been awarded twice in national coffee quality contests.
This Arara variety is grown at altitudes between 900-1150 m.a.s.l.and is a distinguished coffee in Brazil, showcasing its high-quality attributes in coffee competitions organized by the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BS CA). Arara is a natural mutation between the Obatá variety and Yellow Icatu. It is high yielding and resistant to pests.
This coffee is picked, then hand sorted to select the best cherries. The coffee cherries are fermented for 48 hours under aerobic conditions. After the coffees are transferred to a patio for 15 days to sun dry until they achieve the ideal moisture content.
