Eduardo pours his heart into everything he does on his farm El Plan Grandein the town in the municipality of La Democracia, Department of Huehuetenango has an altitude of 1,634 meters. Plan Grande is located near the town of El Pajal, as well as Ixcunén.

Eduardo says that he always has felt happy to be a coffee producer and he feels that focusing on quality to be able to ask higher prices for his crop is one of the ways to keep sustaining his family in the future. Thanks to dry, hot winds that blow from Mexico’s Tehuantepec plain, the Highland Huehuetenango region is protected from frost, which allows for cultivation at extreme altitudes of beans with a fine intense acidity, medium body and delightful fruity notes.

The varieties on his farm are Caturra and Bourbon. He wants to plant other varieties to improve his quality even more. Another plan of his is to work with African raised beds to improve drying and overall quality.
