CONEXH S.A. was constituted on February 7th, 2021. They are a five-generation family business dedicated to the production of coffee, owning 10 farms located in the emblematic Montecillos Sierra. The farms are located from 1450 to 1700 metres above sea level, covering a total of 200 hectares.
Through the years, they have built an alliance with local coffee farmers; today, 40 members are part of “Los Compaz.” CONEXH’s General Manager is Carlos Mejia, an engineer, also known as Chollo, born and raised among coffee plantations in Tutule, who is today the driving force behind the operations. The cooperative uses a traditional sun drying method, covering over 10 hectares. Finca El Chollo belongs to Carlos Mejia. They also grow citrus fruits on their land. The farm has an annual production of about 400 bags and approximately 65,000 trees. The picker shortage in Honduras has also impacted them. They like to use specialized pickers with years of experience to ensure only the ripest cherries are picked; however, this expertise is very requested and is getting harder to find.
